I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
